This is the 8th edition of the daily report published personally by @nishimotz, the chair of PyCon JP 2025.
PyCon JP 2025 will be held at the Hiroshima International Conference Center on September 26th and 27th.
We are looking for organizing members.
We look forward to receiving your applications via the PyCon JP 2025 Organizing Member Application Form (Google Form).
Please note that currently, applications for organizing members are limited to those residing in Japan.
Action Items
Through the chair’s provisional team working days and organizing member study sessions, we have begun to create action items and schedule drafts for PyCon JP 2025 in cooperation with the organizing members.
The following is a compilation of the main action items that have been carried out in previous years, organized for PyCon JP 2025.
Please note that this does not fully reflect the commitments of this year’s chair and team.
February 2025
- Solidify the overall concept and theme.
- Discuss keynote speakers.
- Begin discussions on operations that require outsourcing.
- Develop policies such as the Code of Conduct.
March 2025
- Finalize the time and usage of the venue.
- Decide on policies for proposal submissions, etc.
- Create a budget plan.
April to May 2025
- Start call for speakers.
- Decide on the number of tracks and timetable slots.

June 2025

- Proceed with preparations for production items.
September 2025
- Pre-conference preparations
- Conference day
- Official Party
- We have been announcing the event dates as “September 26th and 27th”, but we are tentatively reserving the venue on September 28th, assuming a development sprint will be held.
- Prepare for unforeseen circumstances.
October 2025 and beyond
- Complete remaining tasks and hand over to the 2026 team.
Things We Want to Try
- In addition to these, we are considering various proposals from the organizing members of “things we want to try”.
Assignees will be decided from now on
We have already received applications from over 20 people to become organizing members, and have started online study sessions.
However, the assignees for each action item will be decided through discussions with everyone from now on.
Therefore, we warmly welcome partners who will create PyCon JP 2025 together, not only from Hiroshima but also from all over Japan!
- “I want to revitalize local Hiroshima!”
- “I want to make PyCon JP a success!”
- “I want to challenge myself in event management!”
No reason is too small. Please tell us about “what you want to achieve at PyCon JP 2025” and “what you are passionate about!” Let’s work together to reflect your aspirations in PyCon JP 2025. If you have even a slight interest, please jump in to take charge of an action item!
